DOT Reasonable Suspicion Testing

This month we released a two-part series on DOT Reasonable Suspicion Testing for Managers and Supervisors. “DOT Reasonable Suspicion Testing For Managers And Supervisors: Part 1” teaches managers and supervisors how, when, and why to take action if they suspect an employee is under the influence. The course explains the concept of reasonable suspicion, defines what makes suspicion “reasonable,” and provides techniques to identify general, behavioral, and physical signs of substance use disorders.

DOT Reasonable Suspicion Testing For Managers And Supervisors: Part 2” dives deeper into recognizing the specific signs of drug and alcohol use, with a focus on the differences between behavioral and physical indicators. It guides managers through the entire process, from approaching an employee with concerns to understanding testing procedures, managing removal from duty, and supporting the employee’s return to work and recovery.

This series empowers managers and supervisors to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
