California has passed legislation to protect LGBT employees. Senate Bill 396 makes it illegal for employers to mistreat workers based on their gender expression, gender identity, being transgender, transitioning, or sexual orientation. This training course teaches supervisors what types of behaviors and actions are prohibited under this legislation.
By law, LGBT individuals who work in California are protected from workplace harassment, discrimination, a hostile environment, and inappropriate behavior. This course explains and gives examples of these different types of harassment and discrimination.
This course also explains other orders under California law that relate to LGBT rights. Other areas covered include retaliation and the consequences of harassment. Supervisors who harass employees, or who do not prevent harassment from occurring, can be held accountable under California law. Take this course to learn about the legal rights of LGBT workers.
