There are many reasons for holding a meeting, and this training guides you through the process from preparation to follow up.
This module details formal and informal meetings, planning and agendas, being a good participant, and ground rules and minutes. For example, formal meetings are often used when official business needs to be documented. Traditionally, there is a defined order of speakers as well as topics. A chairperson presides over the meeting, minutes are verified, and there is much more of a rigid structure than compared to an informal meeting.
Regardless of the kind of meeting, however, there are various stages of preparing for it. There may be a pre-meeting agenda that is circulated and a determination of who needs to attend and where the meeting is to occur, among other matters. This course also shows you how to be a good participant once the meeting begins.
From informal chats in the hallway to discussions with a board, meetings are omnipresent in the modern workplace. As such, you need to know how to better, and more effectively, plan and hold them. Utilize the information presented in this training video to do so.
