Dialogue: Now You're Talking! Dialogue Between Genders

This training video shows how unconscious behaviors and group dynamics can create an unpleasant work experience for newer team members, particularly if the newcomer is of the minority gender in the group. Engaging in a group dialogue sheds light on problems within the team and leads to mutually agreed upon next-steps and likely solutions. Viewers watch a constructive communication unfold, which demonstrates the six principles of effective dialogues. Each principle is emphasized when it is demonstrated, so viewers understand what the communication behavior looks like.

By working through their differences and concerns, men and women are able to understand one another more clearly, reflect upon their own behaviors and biases, and accept their responsibility in contributing to and resolving issues in the workplace.
